Stitch Exchange Shelter Give-Away: And the winner is....Shiree!

Stitch Exchange: Brooklyn Tweed Shelter GIVE-AWAY! Reading Stitch Exchange Shelter Give-Away: And the winner is....Shiree! 2 minutes Next Up and Coming: Year 4 of Pro-Verbial Is Here!

Thank you all SO much for the great response to our give-away! I was so inspired and grateful to read everyone’s suggestions and responses.

All in all, we received 56 comments. The most popular pattern was the Guernsey Wrap, with six votes, followed by Reverb, with five. Lots of patterns got between two and four votes, including Quill, Chicane, and Levenwick. I found a random integer generator online, which gave me number 24. That means Shiree, the 24th person to comment, is the winner. Congratulation Shiree! We’ll email you with information about retrieving your free copy of the Cypress pattern, and then hopefully one day you and I will have matching vests!

In the meantime, I was in too big of a hurry to get my hands on Shelter, to fuss with complicated patterns. So I grabbed a skein of Artifact and made a little pair of wrist-warmers for my boy.

Simple mitts in Shelter Artifact

I cast on 28 stitches and had a gauge of 4 stitches per inch. I knit for abo
ut 6 1/2 inches, until the rectangle fit comfortably around his wrist, and sewed the cast-on and cast-off edge together, leaving a space for his thumb. Homeboy is almost happy we’re having a mini-winter in July, so he can wear these on his bike commute.

Even though he wears mean-looking t-shirts, he loves kitties and knitwear.

I can't wait to see what you all dream up with Shelter! -HD
