Brick and Mortar

Welcome! We invite you to visit our Oakland shop to see all of the colors and textures we offer in person.

Our shop is open, spacious, and filled with natural light. A large work table spans the central space, giving you the ability to lie out materials and plan future projects.

Kristine, the owner, is bi-craftual. She loves everything from creating her own yarn through spinning to sewing her own clothing. The shop reflects this love, and is divided into three sections: yarn, fabric, and fiber. Here, you have the possibility to choose your fabrics for a sweet, cotton shirt, and your yarn, for the accompanying cardigan.

At A Verb for Keeping Warm, we have our own in-house natural dyeing studio and educational dye garden. Anything that has been labelled with the A Verb for Keeping Warm logo has been dyed in the shop.

We currently offer classes in spinning, knitting, quilting, sewing, natural dyeing and rigid heddle weaving. Check our classes section for more info!
