In this workshop students will learn a number of decorative embroidery stitches and then make their small sampler into a wearable wrist cuff. Embroidery stitches will include the buttonhole stitch/circles, French knots, cross stitch, lazy daisy and the sheaf stitch. The sampler will be backed and hand-stitched to create the wrist cuff and students will learn how to create a hand-stitched buttonhole. A decorative button completes the project. These are fun to make out of wool for the winter months and linen and/or cotton for the warmer months.
This workshop is great for those wanting to learn useful stitching techniques while making something that can be used or given as a gift. Suitable for beginners and experienced stitchers alike.
