A Verb for Keeping Warm
Scultura Scarf Class and Social with Cecelia Campochiaro - Sunday, March 16 2025
Style
Join us for a special class with Cecelia Campochiaro during the Bay Area Yarn Crawl!
This class is an introduction to the Scultura Scarf and will also be a convivial afternoon. The Scultura Scarf is a textured, reversible, paralleogram-shaped scarf with I-Cord edges and marl accent stripes.
You will make a tiny swatch to learn the techniques, and will be able to cast on your own Scultura Scarf either in class or after class. Skills covered: provisional cast on, I-cord selvedge and bind off, marl stripes, and slip-stitch patterns.
Level: The class level is intermediate. If you can make a tidy 4x4 ribbing swatch without laddering you will be fine.
This class includes:
+ Sample amounts of yarn in Verb's solid colorways so you can swatch and get some tips and tricks for working the pattern before casting on with your project.
+ Scultura Scarf pattern - releasing March 14, 2025
Please bring:
+ US 3 (or 2 if you are a loose knitter) circular knitting needles (please bring both if you have them. We also have them for sale.)
+ 1 removeable stitch marker (optional)
+ Dpns may also be helpful for the I-Cord bind off—or even to work the small swatch.

Biography
Cecelia Campochiaro appeared on the knitting scene in 2015 with her debut book, Sequence Knitting. Knitting was a casual pastime until she had an ah-ha moment in 2010 and realized that interesting textured fabrics could be created by the simple repetition of a sequence of stitches.
Sequence Knitting is about texture, and her second book, Making Marls, is about color. Making marls, the act of working multiple strands together as one, is an old technique, but has rarely been written about as an important technique in handknitting.
Today she is fully dedicated to the fiber world and “unventing” new ways to make amazing knit fabrics.
