In this class, we will teach you everything you need to know about purchasing and washing a fleece for spinning and felting.
During class, we will:
+ discuss the different types of sheep breeds, how their fleece differs from breed to breed, and how these differences affect the resulting yarn or felted fabric.
+ show you examples of fleece, how to tell the fleece's quality, and how to pick the perfect fleece for your intended project.
+ discuss the differences between washing alpaca fleece and sheep fleece.
+ wash a sampling of various fleece.
+ cover a list of upcoming fiber fairs, where you can find fleece for sale.
You will leave class with a range of fleece samples for your collection.
This class takes place outside. Wear clothing that can get dirty and is appropriate for the weather.
