Wild Ink Workshop with Judi Pettite

Creating Artists Ink: In this class we'll sample locally foraged, cultivated plants as well as natural dye extracts. Together we'll explore the process of making a variety of saturated water based colors. 

Everyone will get 6 bottles of ink to take home. Hues we'll explore will come from Lichen, Mushrooms, Walnuts/Galls, Eucalyptus Bark and a few other surprises.

Brushes, paper, ink bottles and colors are provided with the class. If you have a favorite brush or sketchbook, bring it along.

An apron or smock will come in handy to keep your clothes clean.

    Bio: Judi Pettite, MA, MFA is a visual artist with an extensive background in painting, drawing and printmaking. She started BioHue, in 2007 to research and develop effective and sustainable artist materials. Pettite teaches a range of natural pigment based classes throughout the bay area as well as studio art and art history at Berkeley City College and Los Medanos College.
