Studio Sock's tight twist is composed of 8 plies (4 sets of 2-ply). This means it is durable and has excellent stitch definition. Each single skein has enough yardage for most handknit sock patterns. In addition to socks, this yarn is also a great match for lightweight sweaters and shawls.

Subtle color variations are achieved through kettle dyeing. Please note that these are hand dyed skeins and the color can vary greatly from lot to lot. Please purchase the required amount for your project. Yarn with speckles are individually dyed, so while these pictures are representative of the color, your skein will not look exactly like the pictures. Each and every skein is truly unique!

Care instructions: Machine wash on gentle cycle using mild soap. Lay flat to dry (recommended) or tumble dry on low heat. We recommend washing with Eucalan as other brands of wool wash have had adverse effects on this yarn.

Neighborhood Fiber Co is founded by Karida Collins and is located in Baltimore, Maryland. Karida learned how to knit immediately after finishing college, and fell in love. Enamored with knitting, she set out to create her own hand-dyed yarn business. She taught herself how to dye yarn and thus, NFC was born. Karida's first dye studio was in the kitchen of a basement apartment in the LeDroit Park neighborhood of Washington, DC. Stirred by her surroundings, Karida set out to provide the world with hand-dyed yarns inspired by and named to reflect the natural beauty and diverse neighborhoods throughout the nation’s capital. Since then, she has added many more colors to reflect a multitude of neighborhoods, both inside and outside of DC. Now based in Baltimore, MD, Neighborhood Fiber Co. continues to offer vibrant, one-of-a-kind colors inspired by urban landscapes. Karida's love of bright and vibrant colors is what gives her yarn it's signature style.
