This seam ripper is absolutely divine. The handle is smooth, glossy, and cool, the ripper sharp as a tack! If you have to rip a seam, you may as well enjoy the process as much as possible. This ripper can also be used to snip threads and for creating buttonholes.

The handle is made from ceramic and is square in shape with a rounded edge. The particular type of ceramics has a special history. Created on Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture is a renowned center of manufacturing Kawara (Japanese traditional roof tiles) due to its good soil. The origin of Awaji Kawara dates back to 1610 when the first Kawara roof tiles were made for Japanese castles. Each piece of ware may be different, even if the same technique is used, due to the climate, the clay, and the natural minerals in the glaze. Please enjoy the uniqueness of each piece.

Each has a silk tassel with gold threads that match the color of the glaze.
The seam ripper is a sharp blade made in Japan, and its cover is made of genuine leather with the Cohana logo engraved.
