Paperboard Tool Case + Seki Mini Scissors

Skilled craftsmen at Chikamori Co. Ltd designed a light and easy-to-carry rectangular paper-based tool case that opens horizontally into a tray for easy access to the contents inside.

Two magnets are built into the inside of the tray, so we have included a little tiny pair of scissors perfect for snipping a strand of yarn or thread. Ruler scales are etched into the surface of the tool case, which is handy for taking measurements.

Use this case to carry your sewing and / or knitting tools. This would also make a great pencil case. 

Chikamori Co. Ltd. was established in 1926 in the small town of Konan, Kochi Prefecture as a producer of high-end gift boxes. In addition to these high-end gift boxes, they manufacture old type boxes with flat and square clasps, which are rarely seen nowadays. Compared to today's machine-made products, the process of crafting these exquisite boxes takes more time and labor, but the quality is evident in the unique texture of these traditional handicrafts.

About the scissors:
How small can the very best scissors be? This was the playful challenge of Mr. Hasegawa to his artisans at Hasegawa Cutlery, a manufacturer of edged tools in Seki, Japan's foremost cutlery-making town. The result: the adorable and remarkably sharp Seki Mini Scissors. They are a true labor of love from a company with a commitment to time-tested craftsmanship and inventive ideas.

Simply pinch lightly to cut cleanly through thread, cloth, or other thin material with ease. Scissors come with a genuine leather case for convenient portability, and each pair is adorned with a beautiful silk tassel from Tassel Studio MARIMO in Fukuoka Prefecture.

Superwash Wool - Machine washable on cool cycle with pH-neutral soap, though hand wash recommended. Lay flat to dry.

Wool and Wool blends - Handwash only in lukewarm water with pH-neutral soap. Lay flat to dry.

All international orders are shipped uninsured USPS First Class Parcel Post. We are not responsible for packages which are held in customs or lost. International orders may incur customs fees. We are not responsible for fees you may incur. International shipments can take two months to reach their destination. We caution against placing an order if you live outside the United States. At this time, we are unable to ship to the United Kingdom due to the complicated VAT situation. 

Curbside Pick-Up
To pick up your order at our shop, when checking out, under shipping method, choose Pick up at our Oakland store - 6328 San Pablo Ave.

You will receive an email when your order is ready. Orders placed Tuesday-Saturday are typically ready within 2-3 hours. To pick up your order, come to the shop between 11am - 3pm, Tuesday-Saturday. Knock on the front door and give us your name. 

Pre-orders
