"Beaded colourwork is the term I use to describe the technique of threading beads onto yarn in a predetermined sequence in order to create motifs or patterns that are revealed as the item is knitted." - Jeanette Sloan

Explore the possibilities of using beads in your knitting with Beaded Colorwork, a contemporary collection of 17 knitting patterns by Jeanette Sloan.

This book brings together sparkly beads, cozy yarns and chic silhouettes in a rainbow of colors, reflecting Jeanette’s signature style. The collection includes both accessories and garments — from stylish beanies and shawls to a luxurious poncho and an eye-catching cardigan — designed to make beaded knitting approachable and fun.

Jeanette’s creations are modern and edgy, pushing the boundaries of traditional knitting techniques while challenging the knitter to create something inspirational and breathtakingly beautiful.  Like tiny dots of light, glass beads can add a touch of luxury to the humblest of fibres, a comforting tactile quality to the plainest knit and as much embellishment to a project as you care, or dare, to add.

Pattern Highlight

We collaborated with Jeanette to use our yarn Annapurna in this collection!
The Sammie pullover is knit using Annapurna in Nautilina. Knit samples shown on this page.

To make Nautilina, here in our Oakland dye studio, we take three natural dyes, weld, cochineal, and logwood purple, to create yellow, pink, and purple speckles upon the yarn.

Annapurna is made of merino wool and cashmere. It has a beautiful, smooth twist and is sport weight (385 yards / 112 g).

Sammie is written for the following sizes, with a recommended ease of 4-6"
Finished Bust: 37.75 (42, 45.75, 49.75, 53.5)(57.75, 61.5, 65.5) in / 96 (106.5, 116, 126.5, 136)(146.5, 156, 166.5) cm
Number of skeins of Annapurna: 4 (4, 4, 5, 5)(5, 6, 6) skeins

Preorder Annapurna Nautilina now and we will dye it and ship it to you along with your copy of Beaded Colorwork!
