Viriditas Farm is located about 90 miles east from Oakland. On this farm, there are amazing things happening. The farmer, Sally Fox, breeds organic cotton. Her specialty is exploring, researching, and growing naturally-colored cotton. A long time ago, cotton used to come in a myriad of beautiful shades. Now, through breeding programs determined through factory farming, only white cotton is grown. That said, like all healthy environments, diversity is best, so Sally is determined to support these heirloom varieties of cotton.

Once Sally cultivates a plant which she feels has strong fibers and good yield, she sells this seed to US organic cotton growers. In addition to cotton breeding, she also grows over 10 acres of organic naturally-colored cotton (most commonly her signature Coyote Brown color) at Viriditas Farm.

At Verb, our goal is to help support those in the US who are growing, spinning, and weaving fabric. This fabric is made from organic cotton grown in New Mexico, from seed Sally bred. This fabric was spun and milled in North Carolina.

This fabric is made from undyed "Coyote" brown cotton blended with acala white cotton.
