Harvest Make-a-Long: Fall 2026 Reading One Skein Knitting by Ksenia Naidyon 3 minutes

Thank you for joining us yesterday (9/18/2026) for a wonderful event with Ksenia Naidyon, celebrating the release of her new book, One Skein Knitting!

Ksenia Naidyon is a professional knitwear designer and the creative force behind Life Is Cozy. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, she creates modern patterns, tutorials, and classes that celebrate knit texture. Her pieces are often inspired by botanical forms and her native Ukraine.

Since 2012, Ksenia has published more than 150 patterns, collaborated with a wide range of yarn companies, and had her designs featured in publications around the world, from Pom Pom and Laine in Europe to Making in the US and Amirisu in Japan. One Skein Knitting is her first book.

Ksenia loves a good spreadsheet, is a passionate knitwear photographer, and enjoys every minute of it!

One Skein Knitting is a curated collection of 18 stylish accessories designed to showcase the beauty of single skeins. From soft socks and stylish shawls to scarves and cowls, each project maximizes the potential of that precious yarn.

Created by celebrated designer Ksenia Naidyon (@life_is_cozy), this book offers creative patterns that use a range of yarn weights and fibers. The patterns are ideal for gift knitting, stash busting, or simply treating yourself. With clear instructions and a thoughtful mix of techniques, it’s the ultimate answer to the question, “What can I make with just one skein?”

Our yarn Even Tinier Annapurna is featured in the pattern for the Vitis Scarf. With a generous 565 yards per 112g skein, ETA is truly the perfect one-skein wonder!

Ksenia joined us for a book signing and trunk show of her work, including samples from the book, from 11am-noon.

After the book signing, Ksenia taught a workshop on knitting textured stitches.

The Art of the Unusual Stitch: A Knitter's Texture Toolkit

Date: Friday, September 18, 2026
Time: 12:30pm - 2:30pm

Take a closer look at the stitches that can transform the ordinary knitted fabric into something extraordinary. During this hands-on workshop, we’ll cover a collection of techniques from slipped and wrapped stitches to knitting cables without a cable needle and further to more complex Estonian braids and nupps. We’ll work on each texture step by step, examining how it is constructed and what it contributes to the finished fabric.
All of the techniques featured in the workshop also appear in One Skein Knitting, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the textures that inspired several projects in the book and helping you tackle them with confidence.

Come ready to experiment, add some new tricks to your knitting toolkit, and discover a few stitches you’ll want to use again and again.
