Linear patterns created by mosaic knitting and special yarn meet in a cozy and elegant cowl.
Zea is the genus of a large family of grasses, one of the most important to humanity of which is zea mays. It’s corn! I purchased a skein of A Verb for Keeping Warm’s gorgeous 2024 anniversary color for its resemblance to gorgeous ears of heirloom corn, and designed a cowl to showcase it."

To celebrate Bristol’s release of Zea, we are offering two beautiful options: Candied Apple and Oasis!
Candied Apple, our Fall 2025 anniversary color, is a blend of warm copper that slowly lingers into a rich, delicious deep red. This color evokes Fall leaves, the harvest of apples, and all the wonderful dishes you can make with apples.
Oasis is dyed with indigo and features multiple shades of sapphire blue. So if you love the ocean and the sky, this is a gorgeous choice.
Please note that Bristol's cowl, pictured here, is knit using Abundant Harvest, not either of the colorways we are currently offering. Abundant Harvest is incredibly difficult to create and we can not make it at this time. Candied Apple is the most similar option currently and will be very pretty knit into this cowl.

Rumor is a yarn that we bring out for special occasions like this bundle! Rumor is constructed from a single ply and has an irresistible shine due to its fiber content of 70% Merino and 30% silk.
Soft Current, made of suri alpaca and silk, falls in gentle curves, soft and fine and full of drape. It has a slightly thicker core than a mohair laceweight yarn, a more substantial halo, and can be knit at a larger gauge - resulting in a garment that is incredibly lightweight yet warm.

CROCKING
When working with yarn dyed with indigo and with medium to dark shades of natural dyes (especially on slick fibers like mohair), it is common and natural for the dye to rub off on one’s hands while making. This is called crocking. Although the goods have been washed, it takes pressured contact to release the extra dye. Your handwork is part of the dyeing process. The dye can be removed with hot water and soap. From working closely with dyed materials through the making process, typically, the excess dye has been removed, and the crocking will cease.
~~~
ALWAYS use pH-neutral soap when blocking and washing natural dyes.
Please note the fiber content of the material you are working with, and follow the applicable instructions:
Cotton or linen - Machine washable on cool cycle. Lay flat to dry.
Superwash Wool - Machine washable on cool cycle, though hand wash recommended. Lay flat to dry.
Wool and Wool blends - Handwash only in lukewarm water. Lay flat to dry.
