Designed to be both engaging to knit and a joy to wear, “Saltless Sea” blends crisp garter stitch with airy yarnover lace. Crescent-shaped and subtly asymmetrical, the piece expands fluidly, mirroring the organic, ever-shifting forms of life on the water.

This bundle includes two skeins of Verb naturally-dyed yarn!
Metamorphosis, a Verb classic, is a soft, lustrous sport-weight blend of Merino wool and silk. The shine of the silk is irresistible! The second skein is Frond, a radiant beam of halo and glow, due to its content of mohair and silk. Frond is light as a feather, with a fluffy halo of mohair surrounding a strong silk core.
This shawl was originally designed for our yearly yarn and shawl club, Pro-Verbial. (New memberships to this upcoming year are now open!) The two colors created for Brienne's shawl, Castles in the Air and Crystalline, were made specially for Pro-Verbial Club members.
Metamorphosis in Passionflower and Frond in Bay Sailor are and will be the ongoing offering to support Brienne's gorgeous design. These colors are a touch more saturated than the original and are tried and true favorites at Verb.
You can also choose your combination of colors. Floating and Frond would be a divine combination. You will need only one skein of Floating. Due to the design of this shawl, colorways from solid to variegated will all look amazing. So this is a great pattern to use those skeins of yarn that called your name due to the varying hues but you did not know what to do with!

CROCKING
When working with yarn dyed with indigo and with medium to dark shades of natural dyes (especially on slick fibers like mohair), it is common and natural for the dye to rub off on one’s hands while making. This is called crocking. Although the goods have been washed, it takes pressured contact to release the extra dye. Your handwork is part of the dyeing process. The dye can be removed with hot water and soap. From working closely with dyed materials through the making process, typically, the excess dye has been removed, and the crocking will cease.
~~~
ALWAYS use pH-neutral soap when blocking and washing natural dyes.
Please note the fiber content of the material you are working with, and follow the applicable instructions:
Cotton or linen - Machine washable on cool cycle. Lay flat to dry.
Superwash Wool - Machine washable on cool cycle, though hand wash recommended. Lay flat to dry.
Wool and Wool blends - Handwash only in lukewarm water. Lay flat to dry.
