Tillie is a popover with very short sleeves that are full width at the ends and require no increases or decreases. The pattern is versatile and includes options so you can get your desired fit. Tillie plays with ribbing in two directions and is knit from the beginning of the left sleeve across the yoke to the end of the right sleeve. Once the yoke is completed, stitches are picked up along the bottom edge and ribbing is worked that will hang vertically. There are two neckline choices as well, both start with ribbing, but one version is folded to the inside and stitched down, whereas the other version is left as a cowl.
Tillie is knit by holding a strand of woolly Horizon with a strand of silk mohair Frond. The resulting fabric is lofty with a stunning halo and is very soft. The combination of yarn and pattern makes a piece that is so easy and comfortable to wear. The hint of silk elevates this piece, and adds a touch of luxury to any outfit.
There are six colorways to choose from. And to celebrate the release of Tillie, we have created new colorways!
Mouse is slightly variegated to offer a bit of depth and beauty and features warm shades of brown.
Mushroom is a beautiful neutral and showcases what natural dyes do best, shift ever so gently with the light; sometimes brown sometimes a slight sage green.
Crystal Clear features a pale, crystal clear shade of indigo winding throughout the skein.
For the first time ever, we our offering deep rosy Red Pear on Frond as well as Firefly and Nutmeg on Horizon.
Here are the pairings of Horizon and Frond:
Red Pear / Red Pear
Firefly / Meringue
Weathered Wood / Lighthouse
Nutmeg / Mouse
Mushroom / Mushroom
Fresh Water / Crystal Clear

When working with yarn dyed with indigo, it is common and natural for the blue dye to rub off on one’s hands while sewing. This is called crocking. Although the goods have been washed, it takes pressured contact to release the extra indigo dye. Your handwork is part of the indigo dyeing process. The blue dye can be removed with hot water and soap. From working closely with indigo dyed materials through the making process, typically, the excess dye has been removed, and the crocking will cease.
