AVFKW x Florence Spurling - Elodie Shawl Bundle

Elodie is a mini triangular shawl knitted from the top down. Three colours of Verb Flock are used to create this simple fabric featuring dainty detail throughout: stripes of stockinette alternate between plain bands and those with delicate cross motifs created with the Estonian inlay method. An easy to wear accessory that can be added to any outfit for a hint of warmth, Elodie is lightweight yet cosy and can be styled to suit your own aesthetic.

This bundle includes three skeins of Flock, one of our incredibly special farm yarns. Flock is 100% U.S. grown Rambouillet wool, and spun in Vermont. Flock is made of a single strand of yarn, resembling that which is spun by hand. Flock is cozy, homey, lightweight yarn.

The three colors featured in Elodie and included in this bundle are Duff (dark sandy brown), Stillness (soft petal pink), and Jasper's Eyelashes (copper). 

At Verb we have a display of our favorite seashells, all three of these colors are featured in the the one pictured above. As always, we are inspired by our natural world. Duff is the decomposing leaf litter covering the forest floor, that which nourishes fungi. When we hunt for chantarelles and dye mushrooms, we gently move the duff aside. 

The subtle pink found in Stillness is evocative of the pink light found within the fog as the sun sets over the ocean, when the light and air feels so peaceful, and anything and everything seems possible in the best most promising way. 

Jasper, our newest shop dog's, eyelashes are the sweetest auburn color. We've been wanting to create a color inspired by them - so this was a wonderful chance to do so. Like all of us, Jasper loves nature and runs with such utter joy through the forest and along the beach. Reminding us to do the same! 

Elodie, with its bands of beach-side inspired colors, exemplifies the striations of naturally-dyed color, and fits in perfectly with our inspiration.

When working with yarn dyed with indigo, it is common and natural for the blue dye to rub off on one’s hands while sewing. This is called crocking. Although the goods have been washed, it takes pressured contact to release the extra indigo dye. Your handwork is part of the indigo dyeing process. The blue dye can be removed with hot water and soap. From working closely with indigo dyed materials through the making process, typically, the excess dye has been removed, and the crocking will cease.

Cotton or linen - Machine washable on cool cycle with pH-neutral soap. Lay flat to dry.

Superwash Wool - Machine washable on cool cycle with pH-neutral soap, though hand wash recommended. Lay flat to dry.

Wool and Wool blends - Handwash only in lukewarm water with pH-neutral soap. Lay flat to dry.

All international orders are shipped uninsured USPS First Class Parcel Post. We are not responsible for packages which are held in customs or lost. International orders may incur customs fees. At this time, we are unable to ship to the United Kingdom due to the complicated VAT situation. 

Curbside Pick-Up
To pick up your order at our shop, when checking out, under shipping method, choose Pick up at our Oakland store - 6328 San Pablo Ave.

You will receive an email when your order is ready. Orders placed Tuesday-Saturday are typically ready within 2-3 hours. To pick up your order, come to the shop between 11am - 3pm, Tuesday-Saturday. Knock on the front door and give us your name. 

Pre-orders
