Bread & Butter x Spincycle x Maral Mokri - Yildiz Pullover Bundle

The Yildiz Pullover is part of a collection of patterns that explore the symbology found in Middle Eastern textile art. It features Turkish star motifs, called Yildiz, that are often found in Persian and Turkish rugs. Although these Yildiz symbols can vary in shape/size, they are invariably used to represent luck and good fortune on these textile pieces. This seamless pullover is knit from the top down and features a rolled neckline, sleeves and hem. After separating for the sleeves the colorwork motif continues onto the body and an option for 3/4 length or short sleeves. It's designed to be worn with 2-4 inches of positive ease, but can be sized up for a larger fit if desired.

We were thrilled when Maral reached out to work together. She chose our new yarn brand Bread & Butter Bun in the colors Agave and Baby Frog - to pair with Spincycle's new yarn, Plump in the colorway, Ghost Ranch. Yildiz is a very fun project for beginning and advanced sweater / colorwork knitters.

Now that Plump is available in Small Wonder, we have added a new color combination! Small Wonder is our custom colorway, exclusive to our shop, and costs a little more to make.

Important Note: Maral's sample has short sleeves, and a slight variation on the colorwork. Please refer to these photos when completing the colorwork for this variation. These bundles contain enough yarn to knit the short or 3/4 sleeve variation and to complete the variation of colorwork as shown here.

This bundle includes:
4-8 skeins of Bread & Butter Bun in main color, 1 skein of Bun in contrasting color, and 1 skein of Spincycle Plump in contrasting color. (based upon the size chosen)

+ US 10 / 6 mm (or size needed to obtain gauge) circular needle, 32” / 80 cm or longer for body and sleeves (length should be shorter than bust circumference). Needle should be long enough to do Magic Loop on Sleeves (or use dpns).

CROCKING
When working with yarn dyed with indigo and with medium to dark shades of natural dyes (especially on slick fibers like mohair), it is common and natural for the dye to rub off on one’s hands while making. This is called crocking. Although the goods have been washed, it takes pressured contact to release the extra dye. Your handwork is part of the dyeing process. The dye can be removed with hot water and soap. From working closely with dyed materials through the making process, typically, the excess dye has been removed, and the crocking will cease.

ALWAYS use pH-neutral soap when blocking and washing natural dyes.

Please note the fiber content of the material you are working with, and follow the applicable instructions: 

Cotton or linen - Machine washable on cool cycle. Lay flat to dry.

Superwash Wool - Machine washable on cool cycle, though hand wash recommended. Lay flat to dry.

Wool and Wool blends - Handwash only in lukewarm water. Lay flat to dry.

Yarn that has been pre-ordered and / or purchased can be exchanged within 45 days from when we contact you to pick it up (for curbside pickup) or from the day that we ship it for store credit only (less any shipping costs) as long as it is in its original condition (ball band in place). Curbside Pick-Up
To pick up your order at our shop, when checking out, under shipping method, choose Pick up at our Oakland store - 6328 San Pablo Ave.

You will receive an email when your order is ready. Orders placed Tuesday-Saturday are typically ready within 24 hours. To pick up your order, come to the shop between 11am - 3pm, Tuesday-Saturday. Knock on the front door and give us your name. 

Pre-orders
Pre-orders will ship on the date listed on the product’s webpage. If you ordered additional items, all items will be shipped with your pre-order. If you would like those items shipped separately, please place two separate orders.
