Thea Colman has designed an elegant new cabled vest using Bread & Butter Pretzel!

"This was inspired by the cerulean blue sweater that Andy Sachs cut into a vest in the end of The Devil Wears Prada 2! Of all the outfits in that movie, the one I coveted was the oversized Levi’s, button down shirt, and boot combination she put together with the cut-up sweater. I of course envisioned it with more interesting cables and my own details, but the shape and the color came straight from the movie. Cerulean Sour 2, The Vest is a little more polished, because the knitter in me CANNOT leave edges raw and unfinished – and it works beautifully in that same outfit!
I chose long lines in an easy repeat, for a pattern that could be a truly versatile wardrobe piece. The cables here are beautiful, but not meant to stand out and distract. I added slipped stitches within the motif so the texture stands out on your fabric, but the effect is soft and simple on the garment. The ribbing at the hem transitions beautifully into the first set of cables, and the armhole and neckline shaping neatly work into the pattern as well. A deep, perfectly centered V- Neck and crisp edging around the collar opening look beautifully finished. And at each side of the body, purled stitches surround a faux 'seam,' allowing for easy modification. It’s always these little things that make a garment work for me!"

Cotton or linen - Machine washable on cool cycle with pH neutral soap. Lay flat to dry.
Superwash Wool - Machine washable on cool cycle with pH neutral soap, though hand wash recommended. Lay flat to dry.
Wool and Wool blends - Handwash only in lukewarm water with pH neutral soap. Lay flat to dry.
Yarn that has been pre-ordered and / or purchased can be exchanged within 45 days from when we contact you to pick it up (for curbside pickup) or from the day that we ship it for store credit only (less any shipping costs) as long as it is in its original condition (ball band in place). Curbside Pick-Up
To pick up your order at our shop, when checking out, under shipping method, choose Pick up at our Oakland store - 6328 San Pablo Ave.
You will receive an email when your order is ready. Orders placed Tuesday-Saturday are typically ready within 24 hours. To pick up your order, come to the shop between 11am - 3pm, Tuesday-Saturday. Knock on the front door and give us your name.
Pre-orders
Pre-orders will ship on the date listed on the product’s webpage. If you ordered additional items, all items will be shipped with your pre-order. If you would like those items shipped separately, please place two separate orders.
