While 100% linen fabrics can be slightly challenging to sew due to the wobble, the cotton content in this fabric makes it easier to sew - especially if you are looking to get a sharp corner when piecing quilts or sewing a collar. That being said, this fabric exhibits the benefits of linen - lending a slight drape to the fabric and a touch of luster.
Linen responds well to natural dyes. The linen soaks up the dye a bit more than cotton, so when dyed, due to the combination of fibers, the color has depth and nuance. The fabrics labelled as PFD, white, and natural are very popular with natural dyers.
This fabric's weight lends itself nicely to a wide variety of projects: pants, shirts, dresses, home-wares such as quilts, pillow covers, duvet covers, place mats, napkins, tote bags - nearly anything! Please note that the Arroryo and Euclid collections listed below, due to the screen-printing process, are slightly thicker, so would work best as more utilitarian objects such as pillow covers, tote bags, aprons, etc.

Cotton, linen, or ramie - Machine washable on cool cycle. Hang to dry or machine-dry using low temperature.
Silk - Handwash with cool water recommended. Hang to dry.
Superwash Wool - Machine washable on cool cycle with pH neutral soap, though hand wash recommended. Lay flat or hang to dry.
Wool and Wool blends - Handwash only in lukewarm water with pH neutral soap. Lay flat or hang to dry.

To pick up your order at our shop, when checking out, under shipping method, choose Pick up at our Oakland store - 6328 San Pablo Ave.
You will receive an email when your order is ready. Orders placed Tuesday-Saturday are typically ready within 24 hours. To pick up your order, come to the shop between 11am - 3pm, Tuesday-Saturday. Knock on the front door and give us your name.
