Eva by Cocoknits is a lightweight, cropped cardigan, featuring AVFKW Flock. It has a relaxed fit with slightly dropped shoulders and gentle ease. The left and right sides of the ribbed neckband is worked simultaneously with the upper cardigan, then split off and finished separately to become front ties that can be knotted or left to hang. The sides are split from just under the armholes, giving the fabric movement and swing. Because you are working from the top down, you can easily add more length to the body and/or sleeves if desired. Just be sure to buy more yarn.
Flock is Verb's take on self-striping yarn. The colorways Granite and Sunflower Seed feature wisps of grey and brown wool, respectively, winding around a white core, resulting in long running stripes of white and the colored wool.
If you see a colorway with "Marble" in its name, that means it is dyed on Granite; a colorway with "Whorl" in its name is dyed on Sunflower Seed. You will see the same marbling through the dye when working with it. The marbling will be more subtle on darker colorways, and more pronounced on lighter colorways. We designed the yarn to be this way because it is delightful to see the colors emerge when knitting, shifting ever so gently.
Julie of Cocoknits chose Sun-Dappled Marble to knit her sample. Flecks of gold from our California-grown marigold petals float throughout the piece.
