So we have a great last minute Sunshine MAL project for you!

This is  Sarah's Sunshine MAL project. It is quick!
You can cast-on and be done in time for the deadline!

knit using Graze in Wisteria + Marmalade Skies.

Marmalade Skies is our 2026 Summer Solstice colorway, inspired by the soft, serene sky that occurs just as the sun rises and sets when the sky has wisps of periwinkle and sherbet, and the gold flowers growing in the garden are illuminated by the light.

Made with a blend of Targhee, Rambouillet, Merino, and other fine wools, Graze (116 yd / 50g) is next-to-skin soft. Grown in Santa Barbara, California by Cuyama Lamb, the sheep graze alongside California's golden hills, to mitigate wildfires. If you love wool, sheep, and stories of incredible people working to help the planet, then this light worsted-weight yarn is for you.

Knit with just two skeins of Graze, this is a quick and easy project that you can finish in a week or two!

"This year I wanted to knit a new cowl for my mom. She wanted me to choose the colors and the pattern! While this freedom is wonderful, at the same time, sometimes there is just too much to choose from.

One nice thing about our Make-A-Long is that it imposes constraints. We chose to base this MAL around color, so when setting out to design my project I had a set of colors to work with.

I knew I wanted to use Marmalade Skies, and I lay out a variety of contrasting colors to see them side by side. In the end I was debating between Wisteria and Mist, and decided I liked the warm tones of Wisteria and the way it set off the lavender in Marmalade Skies!

While the Parterre Cowl pattern might look complicated at first glance, especially with all the color play going on, once you learn the Blossom stitch pattern (the loopy sections in between the slipped stitch sections), it’s pretty smooth sailing! We filmed a demo of the two stages of this stitch pattern and will put it on our IG soon.

My favorite thing about knitting with a colorway like Marmalade Skies is watching how the variegation plays out, and how it interacts with itself. This pattern is a perfect fit for this, as the Blossom stitch pattern is broken up by the slipped stitches in Wisteria."
