Today is the last day to sign up for our Knitting and Stitching Winter Solstice Experiences.
We walk that fine line between wanting the Solstice Experience to be a surprise, but also understand how folks would want a little insight of what to expect. Today, we've included a few photos of last year's experience.
1. A cloth canvas dyed with layers of locally-grown pomegranates and madder root as well as indigo. The pink Winter sky with a darkened horizon line was our inspiration.
2. A hank of sashiko thread dyed with locally-foraged eucalyptus. A common memory I have of Winter in our area is walking in the forest in a light rain, the branches and leaves of Eucalyptus trees providing cover, their fresh smell emanating.

An aspect of my personality I find challenging is that my best work is created instinctually in that moment. So as much as I want to plan ahead, for example, to have the Winter Solstice Experience nailed down in the Summer, it really takes feeling that crisp bite in the air and the darker shift in light and shadows to find the motivation and inspiration to make final decisions. (What I am craving and needing in terms of care currently partially informs the experience as I imagine those are universal at that point in time.) And I really think that due to this, the seasonality really come through and ultimately makes the Solstice Experiences very special.
I am anxious to close memberships because I need to get to work on finalizing all the details as many of the goods are made in small batches by small companies. Because before we know it, December will be upon us.
Join us for this year's Solstice Experience today before preorders close!
