Join us in our Oakland studio to create these artful pin cushions from Youngmin Lee's new book, Bojagi: The Art of Korean Textiles. 

You will learn the following techniques: 
gamchimjil
yeonbong maedeub (lotus bud knot)
bakjwi maedeub (bat shape knot)

These techniques are also used when making bojagi (Korean Wrapping Cloths). The pin cushions will be made with naturally dyed fabrics from A Verb for Keeping Warm. (The pieces in the class image are samples and representations of what is possible to achieve in this workshop.) 

You class registration includes:
AVFKW x Youngmin Lee Naturally-dyed Pincushion Kit - available in yellow or indigo blue.

    Required Materials, please bring the following:
    + Fabric scissors
    + Hera marker
    + Pins
    + Hand sewing needles
    + Cotton thread
    + Clear grid ruler
    + Rotary cutter and small cutting mat

        Youngmin Lee is a Korean textile artist living in the San Francisco Bay Area. With a BA in Clothing and Textile and an MFA in Fashion Design, Youngmin has presented numerous workshops, classes and demonstrations on Korean Textile Arts including workshops at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, Oakland Museum, Pacific International Quilt Festival in Santa Clara, Sonoma County Museum, East Bay Heritage Quilters, Wearable Art Connection of Southern California, Richmond Art Center and Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) in Los Angeles, California.
