NOTE: This class will be held over Zoom. To participate in this Zoom class, we will send you a link 24 hours before the class start time, which you will use to log in to a group class with Youngmin. We recommend using a computer to join the class (rather than a phone) as the screen is bigger.
The last day to sign-up and have a kit shipped to you is Tuesday, November 24th at 12 pm.
The last day to sign-up and pick-up a kit via Curbside Pick-up is Friday, December 4th at 10 am. If you would like to pick up your kit before class, please read our Curbside Pick-up policies and select Curbside Pick-up during checkout.
Join us virtually to create these artful pin cushions! Youngmin will teach you techniques such as gamchimjil, yeonbong maedeub (lotus bud knot), and bakjwi maedeub (bat shape knot) to make this flower shape pin cushion. These techniques are also used when making bojagi (Korean Wrapping Cloths). The pin cushions will be made with naturally dyed fabrics from A Verb for Keeping Warm. Please note, this is a hand sewing class, no sewing machine is required.
Included Materials:
+ AVFKW x Youngmin Lee Naturally-dyed Pincushion Kit - 100% linen, naturally-dyed by AVFKW, written instructions by Youngmin Lee - special 10% discount to students. (Regular price $42, student price is $38.) By default, we will create a Sunrise Yellow Kit for you. If you would prefer an Indigo Blue or Cochineal Pink, please leave a note when you check out. Required Materials:

+ Hand sewing needles
+ Thread (silk recommended, or cotton works fine)
+ Clear grid rulers
+ Rotary cutter and small cutting mat

Biography: Youngmin Lee is a Korean textile artist living in the San Francisco Bay Area. With a BA in Clothing and Textile and an MFA in Fashion Design, Youngmin has presented numerous workshops, classes and demonstrations on Korean Textile Arts including workshops at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, Oakland Museum, Pacific International Quilt Festival in Santa Clara, Sonoma County Museum, East Bay Heritage Quilters, Wearable Art Connection of Southern California, Richmond Art Center and Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) in Los Angeles, California.
Cancellation policy: Please note, for this special event, you must cancel 7 days before the start date of your class in order to receive a full refund. We cannot honor any refunds within 7 days of the class start date unless we are able to fill the class from the waiting list.

Packages ship Tuesday through Saturday via USPS. Once shipped, you will receive a confirmation email and tracking number. Please use the tracking number provided and contact the shipping carrier directly with any questions about transit and delivery.
Please select the insured option at checkout to ensure compensation for a lost package. Once the package has been picked up by the shipping carrier, we are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged packages. We do not offer refunds or credits for lost or stolen packages.
If you select an insured option and need to file a claim with USPS, we will provide you with the documentation needed to complete your claim. Packages are insured for the order total. If your package is stolen, please contact your credit card company to receive any possible compensation.

International Orders
All international orders are shipped uninsured USPS First Class Parcel Post. We are not responsible for packages which are held in customs or lost. International orders may incur customs fees. We are not responsible for fees you may incur. International shipments can take two months to reach their destination. We caution against placing an order if you live outside the United States. At this time, we are unable to ship to the United Kingdom due to the complicated VAT situation.
Curbside Pick-Up
To pick up your order at our shop, when checking out, under shipping method, choose Pick up at our Oakland store - 6328 San Pablo Ave.
You will receive an email when your order is ready. Orders placed Tuesday-Saturday are typically ready within 2-3 hours. To pick up your order, come to the shop between 11am - 3pm, Tuesday-Saturday. Knock on the front door and give us your name.
Pre-orders
Pre-orders will ship on the date listed on the product’s webpage. If you ordered additional items, all items will be shipped with your pre-order. If you would like those items shipped separately, please place two separate orders.
